Although this may seem odd and out of place, American football is a pretty popular sport to watch here in Rome! It's obviously not as popular as soccer, but you can guarantee to find games on Sunday and Mondays at the pubs and bars around town. One such bar, Scholar's Irish Pub, is a notorious hangout for American study abroad students, so you bet this place was packed on Super Bowl Sunday with mostly Americans looking to catch the biggest game of the year! Now what is so hard for me to wrap my mind around is how anybody stays up late enough to watch games until the end here in Italy...football games do not even come on TV until about midnight or one in the morning! Although with the great atmosphere and some good friends it is easy to have a good time viewing the popular spectacle. It was a pretty incredible thing to be involved in, watching an American football game in Italy, being surrounded by fellow Americans singing and cheering for something that represents our country. I think I can successfully say that I will never again get the chance to watch the Super Bowl in Italy, so it was an experience I will never forget!

| Scholar's Irish Pub! The screen is hard to see, but you can see the inside of the pub and all of the people! It was packed! |
This is a video I took when the National Anthem was being sung. It is not the best since you cannot really see too much and our voices sound awful but it shows how patriotic us Americans are even being here overseas!
