Ciao!
After packing and re-packing and using space bag after space bag to tame my rather large wardrobe into two suitcases, I am finally ready to take off for Rome! Well first I will be making a stop in the beautiful mile-high city of Denver where I will be meeting up with the lovely Kelsey Freeman, and then it is off to Italy for us! This is one of those moments where I am sitting here in my room trying to recall where all the time went, I mean it seems like just yesterday that I was filling out the initial application to study abroad in Rome and here I am ready to leave. Packing was an interesting task for Rome as they do not have all of the necessities that we have here in America, such as peanut butter! Like hello! What on earth do they put on their sandwiches? That along with dry cereal are two components of my suitcase that will cause a security guard to become extremely puzzled if he has to look through my bag. I am sure there will be many more things about my new home that seem strange or bizarre to me at first, but that is what this trip is all about, submersing myself in a culture that is so different from our own. I can say I have been blessed with the opportunities to have gone to Europe a few times before for vacation, but living there? That's a whole other story. This is about to be the journey of a lifetime and I cannot wait for what lies ahead! Ciao for now America, see you in four months!
