As we did not have wifi here for the first couple of days and have been completely swamped with orientation for the university we are studying at here, John Cabot University, I have not had the chance to blog at all! When we first arrived here in our apartment, I nearly kissed the ground I was so happy to be alive after the van drive from hell we had to endure on our way here! Those Romans seriously cut it close when it comes to driving, and I thought I had seen enough of that in NYC! But when we arrived it was late so we did not get to explore until the next day, but when we did we were in love with our new home. Every where you turn, there is something beautiful. Whether it's the hopping trattoria in Campo de Fiori or the babbling fountain hidden between two buildings, everything in Rome is beautiful in its intricacy. I have been to over ten different countries in my lifetime and I have never seen such beauty and history in a city quite like that of Rome. Yesterday, a couple of my roommates and I went on a free open bus tour that was provided as part of orientation and were in awe at all of the beauty Rome has to offer. Later that night we actually went with a group of about forty students on a walking tour that was led by Rick Steve's son, Andy Steves, which ended in us eating at an American-friendly restaurant that served a four-course meal plus bottomless wine for only 15 euros. Now that is a deal no college student could pass up! These past couple of days have proved to be a great foreshadowing of the four months to come and I know that this next semester will be filled with adventure, great friends, GREAT wine, and memories that will last for a lifetime.
